LAUGH IT UP, FUZZBALL!

If you’re not interested in digging into Star Wars lore, feel free to skip to the bottom for a delightful drawing of swimming polar bears I made, as consolation entertainment for an inside joke.

For those who caught it, you know “Maclunkey” is a nerdy piece of Star Wars trivia. In the 2019 release of A New Hope, Greedo suddenly blurts out “Maclunkey” in the Mos Eisley cantina, right before Han shoots him. It wasn’t in the original film, and it landed right in the middle of the already controversial cantina scene that’s been edited, re-edited and argued over for decades (the whole “Han shot first” hubbub).

There’s advice that says you should never explain a joke, and there is also advice that says you should make creative work for yourself. I’m definitely going against the first bit of advice, but this comic exists mostly because I found the wry scenario funny enough to amuse me thoroughly.

And for anyone who didn’t enjoy the reference at all, please accept this drawing of swimming polar bears. I hope it brings you at least as much joy as the punchline did for me.
